One of our #knottooshabbyFarmhouseRescue projects, this adorable chest of drawers was salvaged out of a 1908 farmhouse right here in Glendora. Up two flights of stairs into a neglected attic, this poor, lost piece of furniture sat upside down and backwards with inches of dust hiding it’s simple splendor. We rescued it from destruction and with a little elbow grease and creativity, gave some life to it.
The framework has been painted in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, Artissimo; a rich midnight blue shade that pairs well with green, blacks, whites and greys. The drawers were given a dual treatment with a decopauged front using a vintage aeronautical map as well as a craquelier finish using Annie Sloan’s medium. It is sealed with dark wax to define the crackel details and add some rustic charm.
Caster wheels are original to the dresser and new, glass diamond cut knobs add a smidge of sparkle.
