In honor of Star Wars Day, May the 4th, I’ve launched my 2025 themed dresser. This features the vibrantly colored desert scene of Tatooine, complete with a line of Bantha’s and Luke Skywalker zooming across the desert in his speeder. This piece was inspired by the style of vintage travel posters created by Steve Thomas Art. I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Arles for the primary color backdrop with shading of Paprika Red to create the ombre effect. The details are in Honfleur Brown, Pure White, Cream, Athenian Black, Whistler Grey and Barcelona Orange. My hubby was insistent that I did not put the Bantha’s in a group but traveling in a straight line.

The entire piece is sealed with Annie Sloan Clear Wax to give it long term protection and durability and I used Dark Wax to exaggerate the colors and frame out the shape of the sides and wood drawers, giving it a subtle vintage vibe.

I only complete one Star Wars themed dresser a year, and it is a labor of love and will never be replicated as every element has been meticulously designed by myself and hand painted. I hope it goes to a fan, young or old. You can see additional photos and process reels on my Instagram page.

Structurally, this is an old piece. The original caster wheels are wooden and have been repaired. The back of the dresser has a small hole, however it isn’t visible and doesn’t inhibit the structural durability.
