Have you ever had one of those moments where you get the inkling that something amazing was just posted on craigslist? Please, tell me I’m not the only one that has those “feelings.”

I was in the middle of making dinner about two weeks ago. I was mixing enchilada sauce and cooking ground beef, when out of nowhere I got the feeling that I needed to check craigslist.

Lo and behold, I found a pair of dressers just down the street.

My heart started to beat a little faster. My fingers were flying across the keyboard as I e-mailed the owner stating my interest. We arranged a pick-up time and I drove out to check out these pieces and some other great furniture that was piled in the garage. I was ecstatic to land two fabulous pieces within my price range.

I painted the first of the two in Miss Mustard Seed’s Milk Paint, Grain Sack.

The top had some significant damage so I stripped it down and re-stained it…dark walnut, believe it or not. It didn’t really take the dark color so I used MMS Antiquing Glaze to finish off the top and richen the color a bit.

This one had lots of chipping…oodles of chipping.

 Ahhh…legs.

The sister piece will be painted in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and I will put the two side by side so customers can see the difference in a milk paint vs. chalk paint finish!

I can’t wait to tackle that one! I just LOVE painting a great piece of furniture.

This week has been full of great furniture! I have several dramatic before and afters that I can’t wait to share. Among the furniture, a post about my finished kitchen! Painted cabinets, some new furniture and decor!

Just to tease you, here are some samplings…
