If you’ve admired our most recent window display by artist Sandy Brock, then you’ve likely noticed the contribution of vibrant yet cozy-soft florals by Maeberry Lane Design that sing out among the deep green doors and shutters.

The handiwork of Glendora artist Kelly Manning, the handmade floral arrangements, wreaths, signs, and more make delicate decor that’s sturdy enough to withstand unpredictable temperatures (a must for outdoor celebrations) or packaging & shipping (a must for gifts) and lasts through the current season and beyond. Her enthusiasm for fall abounds inside knot too shabby where her velvety pumpkin arrangements and warmly-colored floral wreaths are flying off the shelves. Kelly says, “My favorite items to make are anything fall related. I love fall decor so much and wish I could have it out in my house year round.”

Maeberry Lane Design began less than two years ago when Kelly saw a Pinterest tutorial and said to herself “I can do that!” After hours and hours of practice and lots of hot glue gun burns, she got the hang of it! She admits that the most challenging part is staying authentic and original. “It would be so easy to scroll through Pinterest or Instagram and see something beautiful someone made and copy it. Creating original work is so important because it is what makes your work your own! I get so much joy from creating unique decor.” At knot too shabby, we treasure one-of-a-kind creations by local artisans. We understand that you have a plethora of choices online and at big box stores, so it’s important to us to offer options that can’t be found anywhere else–especially as the busy gift-giving season nears.

In light of her whirlwind success, what advice does Kelly have to offer fledgling artisans? “As someone who is artistic and terrible at crunching numbers, I would say don’t let the business side of following your dreams keep you from diving in. Asking for advice from people who have been doing this for longer than I have helped a lot!…I love getting to meet new people and fellow artisans through handmade markets such as the knot too shabby BAZAAR!”

Maeberry Lane Design handmade floral arrangements, wreaths, signs, and more are available now in-store at knot too shabby.
