Isn’t she pretty? I picked up this great antique pedastal table on Saturday and thought it to be the perfect piece for some of my new Annie Sloan samples!
I picked my second favorite color (my first favorite is Aubbuson), Duck Egg Blue for the base and re-stained the top dark walnut.
Beautiful, but soft wood beneath the cracked varnish. It took me longer than usual to sand the top because I had to use a finer grit sand paper so that the wood wouldn’t get scratched.
One coat of Annie Sloan Duck Egg Blue for the base. It only took about 20 minutes to paint this table.
I used a dark wax to seal and glaze it and kept the original drawer handle.
A light distressing all over it…nice cord, eh?
I’ll have this piece in the store for Furniture Friday!
Beautiful color!
What a great looking piece! I think that is the perfect color choice for that piece! xo Diana
Beautiful. I LOVE duck egg blue. My favorite, favorite ASCP color, but still have loads more to try.
I think that table was mine at one time. Must have sold it and it is recycled again 🙂
I love the color combination! The dark top sets off the Duck Egg Blue beautifully. Where in the world did you get all those samples and brushes? I would love to get a package like that to give different colors a try!
Gorgeous color! I absolutely HAVE to find a way to get ASCP!
Looks so pretty…you’ve picked the perfect color combo!
One of my first clock faced tables was on a table exactly like that one. Wish I could find another one, I would totally copy yours. Love it, Dee
I recently purchased a table identical to that at the thrift store around the block from your shop. Anyways, I LOVE what you did with the table. This is probably one of my favorite pieces that you have done. I love the blue base with the dark top. It looks so pretty and elegant. Can’t wait for you to get ASCP in your shop.
Did you use clear wax before the dark wax? I have my mother’s table and going to paint it duck egg blue too.
Hi Michele!
I adore your table! Looks fab! I would love if you came by and linked it up to my linky party happening NOW! I would love to have you!
