I have been running around this week like a chicken with its head cut off. Tomorrow, I leave for a 12-day trip to Europe. I’m leaving my family home so have spent the week coordinating kids schedules, shop schedules, making sure I have enough inventory ordered, bills paid…oh yeah…and Christmas shopping done, decorating finished and enough trinkets for the Elf to leave while I’m gone.
The funny thing is, I’m not worried about any of that. The store is in capable hands and will run smoothly while I’m gone. My husband is on top of things and will take great care of the kids and both Grandmas are right around the corner.
I’m worried about the cold. You see, it was a frigid 55 degrees here in the mornings this week and I was chitter-chattering like a wimpy Southern California girl. Bundled up in long-sleeved shirts and jackets with a fashionable scarf wasn’t cutting it for me. And I’m looking to 30 degree temps in Luxembourg. What’s a So. Cal girl to do in that kind of weather!?
So, I’m trying to heed the advice of my friend who said, “Yep! You’ll be freezing, but who cares! Have fun despite the cold!” Indeed!
Anyway, all that to say stay tuned over the next couple of weeks because I am planning on sharing my European adventures and show some of the great finds (at least I’m hoping)!
In the meantime, there are some great treasures right here in town. In particular, my very bestest friend all the way from High School makes beautiful jewelry. Just for knot too shabby, she is selling her collection of jewelry with vintage flair during the holiday season!
Starting in January, we are introducing a “Featured Artisan” who will be selling their craft at knot too shabby for three months. Laura, owner of Fitzydoodles will be our first “Featured Artisan.”
Through March, her jewelry will be available.
From April-June, we will have another featured artistan. It could be you!
If you are interested in being featured for three months at knot too shabby, send an e-mail and we will get an application out to you after the first of the year. There are only three spaces available in 2014.
For now, come do a bit of Christmas shopping at the shop and check out Laura’s jewelry! And, wish me luck as I trek across Western Europe in search of awesome antiques!
These are great fashionable treasures you’ve sorted out and thanks for sharing here. I really like each jewelries pretty much. And I’m looking forward to learn about your European adventure and more interesting finding!!
