Every January and August, the Glendora Village encourages all of the retailers to participate in a block wide sidewalk sale. For most of the stores, it is a great chance to clean out old inventory and have additional markdowns on sale items. Fortunately, I don’t have much merchandise that I need/want to clear out as everything we have sells (eventually) and most of what we have sells within a month. So, for this weekend’s sidewalk sale (January 20-22), I’m doing things a little differently.

For starters, I’m marketing down ALL side tables that I have in stock to $40 or less! For some side tables, that’s a 60% discount. They’ll be lined up along the sidewalk this weekend.

In addition to side tables, this will be the only time of year that I accept goods on consignment! They could be handmade items, household decorations, furniture pieces, pictures, jewelry…you name it! There are going to be a wealth of treasures lining the sidewalk and adorning the discounted side tables all weekend!

How does this all work?

Well, if you are interested in selling some of your own personal treasures, this is the criteria you  must follow:

1. Items must be appropriate to knot too shabby. Meaning, I don’t want it to look like a mass yard sale out on the sidewalk. No clothes, shoes, electronics, etc. Items must fit in the vintage, shabby chic category of housewares and home decor.

2. Items brought for consignment must be delivered on Wednesday and Thursday, January 18th and 19th, individually priced with your initials on the price tags. What doesn’t sell MUST be picked up Monday or Tuesday, January 23rd and 24th. Any items that remain after January 24th are relinquished to knot too shabby for further sale or donation to New Unto Others thrift store.

3. If you have larger pieces of furniture that you are interested in consigning for the sidewalk sale, pieces must be dropped off on Thursday evening between 4:00-5:00 pm or Friday, January 20th and picked up on Sunday, January 22nd by 3:00 pm. I can only accept furniture on a first come basis as I need to ensure for adequate space to store them over the weekend.

4. Finally, the consignment rate is 50/50 split which you will receive when you pick up any left over items after the sidewalk sale. Any items that we receive that are not priced will be priced by knot too shabby staff.

Please call if you have any questions and let’s hope for an upcoming weekend where you can make a little extra cash for the new year!
