What you will need:
An ugly canvas painting in a rad frame
Vintage Sheet Music
Modge Podge
Musical Instrument of sorts
Christmas “fluff”
Hot Glue Gun
About 18 months ago, I was given a pile of awful canvas paintings. With my luck they were probably “worth something” and I destroyed any amount of value. But, I thought they were ugly so we covered the painting with sheets of vintage sheet music.
Last year, I used this as a back drop for a Christmas Wreath.
This year, I decided to take a step further and “junkify” it.
I had a broken violin that Gayle at Strings Music dropped off at the store for me. In his words…”you can think of something to do with this.”
I had to re-glue the bridge back on and tighten up the strings. Fortunately, I played violin when I was nine years old so I totally knew what I was doing.
To add some Christmas flair, I took a bag of Christmas greens that another customer dropped off and gave to me and started cutting them apart with wire cutters.
I glued some behind the neck, added some pinecones and made a red bow to tie around.
The result…
A unique and charming wall hanging perfect for the holidays!
And the best part is that I made it completely out of donated materials!
It’s fun to play around with the stuff you have to see what you come up with!
What’s your most creative “junk” project?
I love it. What a perfect gift for a musician, too! xo Diana
so creative and festive!
