Vintage Dresser-Hand-Painted Lion Motif Inspired by Narnia

I channeled my great love of C.S. Lewis’s Narnia with an inspired “Aslan” lion motif. Deviating from a more traditional color palette, I used Annie Sloan Paloma, a smoky grey with lavender undertones, as the body and framework of this beautifully crafted, antique dresser. The wood carving on the third drawer served as my primary point of inspiration in creating the lion snout while utilizing the detailed craftsmanship of the woodwork. Other colors smattered throughout are Rodmell, Oxford Navy, Florence, Provence, Tilton, Barcelona Orange. Burgundy…to name a few. New, glass cut knobs adorn the drawers and the entire piece has been sealed with a protective coat of Annie Sloan Clear Wax and light distressing compliments the age and wear.
